Florida has adopted the Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) which allows a person with a disability to live with an Emotional Support Animal in any rental accommodation.
This act was passed to stop the discrimination against the person with the disability and provide them with a reasonable accommodation devoid of any no-pet policies. The landlord must approve the request and must not ask for detailed medical statements.
